Edition 2.1

Looking Back at 2025 & Building for the Future

This is something we’re excited to reintroduce and, importantly, to build with you. First and foremost, this newsletter is about news. What’s happened, what we’re working on, what we’re learning, and where changemaker is heading.

Alongside that, you’ll find insights, reflections, and ideas drawn from the work we do every day with people, teams, and organisations navigating change.

IT’S ALSO ABOUT CONNECTION.

We want this to be a way of keeping in touch, sharing what matters, and inviting you into the conversation.

From small ideas to big projects, your thoughts, advice, challenges, and perspectives genuinely help shape what we do next. If something sparks a thought, raises a question, or triggers an idea, we want to hear it.

This newsletter won’t stand still. It will evolve over time, just as changemaker does. You’ll see new sections appear, others change or disappear, and the overall shape develop as we learn what’s most useful, interesting, and relevant to you.

So, strap in, have a browse through the articles, and see what takes your fancy. And if you’d like to get involved, share a thought, or help shape what comes next, you’re always very welcome.

Looking Back

It was a year where we leaned into what we love doing, working with brilliant people to deliver meaningful change, while also asking some important questions about how we do it, how we do it better, and how we create the right conditions for sustainable growth.

There was a key focus on position and scalability. How do we remove bottlenecks? How do we give ourselves more horsepower? How do we streamline the business so that the people delivering change are freed up from unnecessary friction and supported effectively behind the scenes?

A key part of that journey was strengthening the team itself. During the year, we made two significant hires who are now well embedded and already making a real impact. Wesley Plumb joined as Operations Manager, bringing a fresh perspective across resourcing, internal operations, and how the business supports delivery, as well as helping shape our marketing and brand thinking from an operational lens.

Alongside this, Dean Lawrence joined the business as Client Relationship Manager. With a background in customer-relationship-led recruitment Dean is focused on deepening relationships, improving engagement and expanding our reach in a considered and human way.

Together, these additions have brought exactly what the business needed at this stage. More capacity, more clarity, and more momentum.

We also spent time exploring how to better support our associate family, how to create clearer structures and investing in projects that strengthen delivery without compromising what makes changemaker what it is. A people-led business, built on trust, capability, and quality.

At its heart, 2025 was about future-proofing. Making sure people are able to do their best work, playing to their strengths, and feeling supported to grow while also building a business that can scale with confidence and intent. That, ultimately, is the objective we are building towards.

The Future

The world is a very different place since COVID.

Each year seems to bring a new challenge, more noise, and more complexity, both personally and professionally. The future is harder to predict than ever, which means certainty is no longer something you rely on, it’s something you build resilience around.

For us, that means having a plan that protects against the worst-case scenario, while staying firmly focused on what good looks like when things go well.

Any healthy and ambitious business needs to grow. But the skeleton key, the thing that unlocks everything else, is people and relationships. That’s where we’re doubling down on this.

The future of changemaker will be even more personal. More human. More connection-led.
Less reliance on digital noise, and more emphasis on meaningful conversations, shared experiences, events, and genuinely enjoyable ways of bringing people together. That shift feels intentional, feels right and feels very much “us”!

Success, for us, is not just measured in numbers. It’s measured in how you experience changemaker, how you perceive us, and whether you choose to engage with us. As with any strong relationship, the more you put in, the more you get out.

We Need You!

Our relationships are symbiotic. Our path and your path are connected. We recognise we are all on our own personal journeys and need work to support life (not the other way around!).

That’s why creating opportunities for our associates matters just as much as delivering for our clients.
One doesn’t exist without the other.

At the heart of our approach has always been a simple belief. If you look after people, they look after you. That founding philosophy is continuing to shape how we think about the future and we believe that future will be as big as we collectively choose to make it.

What does that mean in practice for you and how can we build success together in 2026.

Keep your details up to date

We’ve invested in a new CRM to better match associates to opportunities, but it’s only as good as the information we hold. If you haven’t shared a CV with us recently, please do, even if it’s an older version, or you’re still mid-contract.

What we always need:

Your latest CV
A rough guide on rate
Your likely availability

As a rule of thumb, please update us every 3 –6 months.

Send to: recruitment@changemaker.org.uk or wes.plumb@changemaker.org.uk, and we’ll take it from there.

Help us build visibility and credibility

We’ve made good progress improving our online presence and Google search ranking.

One thing that really helps increase our visibility is Google reviews.

If you have a Google account and are happy to recommend working with changemaker, a short review would be HUGELY APPRECIATED.

It doesn’t need to be long. Even 10–30 words makes a difference. CLICK HERE

Share your best work

We’re expanding the case studies on our website and would love to showcase more of the great work our associates do.

If you’ve worked on a project, you’re proud of, especially one you’d happily do again, talk to us.

Organisational, cultural, digital, or transformation-led. We’re keen to build a broad and meaningful set of examples of the great work we can do.

You’ll always be credited, and nothing goes live without your approval.

Get involved in content and thought leadership

This year, we’ll be doing more with our YouTube channel, and developing some of that thinking into podcast-style content.

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE and keep an eye out for episodes and tell us what you think we should be talking about in future. If there’s a topic, you’re passionate about, we’d love to explore getting you involved.

This is about having fun, sharing thinking, and building the changemaker reputation together.

Associate profiles and community

For those working with us now, or who have worked with us in the past and are happy to be associated with changemaker, we’ll be listing associates on our website to raise your profile and ours. Capability and capacity is important.

What will be included:
A short bio
A profile photo
Accreditation across articles, videos, and content where relevant

Interested? Message Wes Plumb at recruitment@changemaker.org.uk

Events and Learning

Finally, keep an eye out for upcoming events. Both external events we’re attending, and internal sessions focused on connection, learning, and a bit of fun.

None of this is expected all at once. But over the coming weeks and months, if you can engage where it makes sense for you, it genuinely means a lot.

As always, we see this as a two-way relationship. The more we invest in each other, the more opportunity we create together.

Team News

One of the most significant moments of 2025 for changemaker was Dave Seddon reaching a point where he wanted to explore life a little more beyond day-to-day work.

Dave hasn’t retired, at least not officially. Instead, he’s decided to pursue something that’s long been close to his heart. Becoming a professional golfer with a pension. Which, frankly, feels very on brand for him

Importantly, Dave hasn’t gone completely. He’s stepped back from the operational day-to-day but continues to be involved in a non-executive capacity, supporting the leadership team with the experience, perspective, and calm wisdom that has always grounded the business.

Dave is one of changemaker’s founders. A genuine people person who has brought countless individuals together, asked the right questions at the right moments, and quietly shaped the culture and relationships that sit at the heart of what we do.

As he focuses on his next chapter through 2026, we wish him nothing but success. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting, and we know he’ll never be far away.

What changemaker does

We are often asked – “so what do changemaker actually do?”

For us it has always been about helping individuals and organisations make change happen. We are about doing, not talking. Real world experience not academic theories. Practical and pragmatic not bureaucracy and bluster.

We help to design and shape change in a way we know will work and then support delivering that change to realise sustainable outcomes.

But at the centre of our approach, and what makes us stand out, is the recognition and focus on the human being, how you support and help people to change.

➢ Change Management
➢ Organisational Change
➢ Human Change
➢ Digital Transformation
➢ Cultural Change
➢ Project Management
➢ Programme Management
➢ Portfolio Management
➢ Governance/Assurance/Compliance

And finally...

So, what next? We hope you have found this first newsletter aimed squarely at our associate family interesting, enjoyable and insightful.

But what we really hope is that it inspires you to engage with us even more, help us spread our wings, tell our joint story and grow our business together so we can all continue with the journeys we dream of making.

We live in a crazy, sometimes scary, world where everything around us seems to be changing in unpredictable ways. But what we are convinced of, is to thrive, not just survive, in this world we need to value the human being even more. Build relationships, collaborate and support each other on our personal journeys and through that support our clients in the journeys they are embarking on as well.

We look forward to continuing to build these relationships and celebrate those journeys with you in 2026.
